Latest Electric Vehicle Charging figures revealed

Cornwall Services is home to the largest Electric Vehicle (EV) charging station in Cornwall and new figures reveal it charged 18,349 vehicles last year saving over 450 tonnes of carbon dioxide in EV miles.

The high-power chargers charged on average 1,460 vehicles per month with an average charging time of 32 minutes. The busiest time of day for charging is between 12noon and 3pm and the busiest day of the week is Monday with an average of 251 sessions, followed by Sunday (204 sessions) and Friday (183 sessions). The least busy day of the week for electric charging is Thursday.

The GRIDSERVE 12 charger Super Hub consists of six High Power 350kW-capable chargers which provide a quick top up for people passing through on their journeys, along with six Low Power AC chargers for overnight guests at the onsite hotel. It is powered by a state of the art solar canopy and 1MW lithium-ion battery to supplement the existing grid connection.

Andrew King from Cornwall Services said, ‘We’ve been delighted to work with GRIDSERVE on improving the EV charging offer at Cornwall Services and we are already excited about the prospect of adding further chargers as soon as connections to the grid allow us to do so. As a team, we have a strong environmental focus and we are very pleased to help improve local transport infrastructure.’
