THE NEW CO-OP IS NOW OPEN!

Cornwall Services is proud to host the first ever Co-op franchise service station store. Opened today, Thursday 18^thMarch, the new store is the result of a £500,000 investment and will support 20 local jobs. The 2000 sq ft store is open 7am until 10pm, seven days a week and offer regular Co-op value – no inflated service station prices.

Including an in-store bakery, the new Co-op offers a wide selection of fresh produce, store cupboard essentials and ready meals including all the leading brands in addition to a selection of local regional items.

To recognise the work of key workers over the last year, ‘local hero’ Kev Elliot cut the ribbon at the store opening. Kev is a cleaner at Cornwall Services and has worked throughout the pandemic to ensure the facility is kept spotlessly clean – he always has time to chat with customers and always has a smile on his face!

As part of the launch, Co-op donated dinner kits, tote bags of essential groceries, to two local charities: Fair Exchange Bodminwhich is a community support group set up during the Covid19 pandemic; and St Petrocs, the charity working to end street homelessness in Cornwall and which already has a contactless collection point at Cornwall Services.

Maintaining a healthy diet for people experiencing homelessness can be difficult, but it has been even harder over the last year so food donations such as these are vital in helping people stay healthy and move forwards with their lives. We wish the Co-op success with the new store in Cornwall Services.”

Welcoming the new Co-op store, Mark Upton, franchisee and part of the commercial team at Cornwall Services, said: “We are delighted to be opening a Co-op store at Cornwall Services. We believe it will be a hugely popular addition for both locals and tourists alike – and being the first service station in the country to have a Co-op franchise store on site is very exciting!”
